The 69th International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
In honor of this, I would like to share a photo I took at Dachau, a work camp in Germany. This photo is part of a memorial that was built to represent the victims of the Holocaust.
While living in Germany, I visited many memorials and old concentration camps and words cannot describe the feeling the evoke. Hearing stories from friends and my family was always difficult, but while visiting these places, the stories finally became real to me.
Take the time to remember all those who have passed, those who have fought and those who have gone to great lengths to help others in need.
An amazing person who should be far more well-known is Sir Nicholas Winton, the man behind the Kindertransport.
A short video of a survivor describing meeting Winton.
