Here in Minnesota it is 60 below Fahrenheit with windchill (-51°C). While this is dismal, I hope that a bit of artistic creativity can brighten up your day.
An obsession of mine is photobooks. I find them absolutely fascinating. So here is a little list of photobooks that are on my must-buy list:
Nelli Palomäki,” Breathing the Same Air”
This photobook is focused on portraits and they are beautifully done.
Andy Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin, “Holy Bible“
While many would find this idea to be highly provocative, I think if you begin with this photobook, it is easier to understand the meaning behind their approach.
This photobook actually has a well-written review.
Wing Young Huie, “Frogtown”
This photobook is an oldie, but a goodie. I personally met this photographer and I have to say that he is one of the most interesting people that I’ve met. His calmness and need to tell a story through his photography is quite inspiring.
Frogtown is a quite well-known area in St. Paul.
These are only a few of the photobooks that are on my must-buy list, but I hope you enjoy taking a lot at these artists and their amazing work.
Are there any photobooks on your must-buy list?
