Your Behavior Creates Your Gender

Judith Butler, philosopher and gender theorist, describes gender as performative.

I’m a big fan of this video, because I believe it is explained in a way that most people could really understand that sex and gender are different things and that outside forces shape gender. But I do believe that you have to have a general knowledge of the fact that gender and sex are different things before truly accepting what she has to say in this video.

What are your thoughts? Do you think that our behavior creates our gender or is it other forces that shape the social construction of gender?
