A great friend of mine, Natalya Reznik, has been recently published in “The Calvert Journal.” Take a look at her photography project “Looking for my father.”
Natalya Reznik’s parents had a bitter divorce when she was a very young girl. Due to the bitterness, she never got to know her father. Her mother discovered he had another family and destroyed all traced of him.
Because Reznik had no clear image of her father, she attempted to replace him in photos with icons such as Jean Marain, Marcello Mastroianni, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon.
“This project is very personal. It’s somewhere between documentary and fiction, where the dreams of my mother are real but the memory I created for myself is fictional.”
Reznik’s work has been exhibited across Russia, Europe and the USA. She is also the amazing photographer of my “About Me” photo.
